Philips HD4646 Kettle Basic series
|
The kettle does what it should ... Boil water in a reasonable time.
The device is simple without any frills or special features.
What I really miss is a lamp that shows me the operation / heating.
The switch is only an orange label that is not visible when something worse light. So you have to always run to the kettle and the switch position (on / off) view to check the operation state ...
Well, the handling and the grip and the two-sided vision panel incl. Quantity specification. When filling the hand is well protected by the hinged lid from hot steam ..
Let"s see how does the lack of light in the further use noticeable. Maybe I"m used to this "luxury" even by my old kettle ...
Our last kettle was from Rowenta. We have pretty hard water. The Rowenta had a large fine meshed strainer held back even smaller particles. In addition, the peripheral rim of the screen was elastic and composed cleanly.
Newer water heater often have no sieve or a coarse wire screen. Removable screens recently kettle were too imprecise held, so that the lime may incidentally.
Unlike this Philips Kettle:
It also has a fine mesh screen which can be removed for cleaning. However, the screen is tiny compared to the Rowenta, so that needs to be cleaned or descaled relatively often in hard water, otherwise the water fleißt bad.
Well the window is for water level indicator. It is slightly dull and you can well watch the water level. Better than the crystal clear water level indicator at the Rowenta. On the handling there is nothing wrong.
